Join us for a presentation and discussion focused on tax and cultural considerations for German companies expanding in the USA and for Americans living in Germany.
As a solopreneur or startup you may be ready to expand to the United States to increase your exposure to its established network of capital funding and innovation-ready population. Of course, doing so isn’t without its risks and necessary considerations. Among others are tax, legal, and cultural differences that can differentiate between an organization that thrives or falters post-expansion.
Additionally, Americans in Germany face various tax responsibilities that may prove disastrously complicated for expats settling into a new environment.
Miles Edwards and Philipp Nuernberger, in partnership with the Carl-Schurz-Haus, are collaborating on an insightful and informative session to shed light on many of the common pitfalls of cross-border matters and to answer many of the questions you may have.
Miles Edwards is a Manhattan-based CPA (Certified Public Accountant) who has lived in Freiburg and is also a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Madison (the sister city to Freiburg). Philipp Nuernberger is a lawyer licensed both in Germany and New York.
