This is a self-organized group of book lovers, from places near and far, from students to retired. We invite you to join us, usually on the last Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm at the library of the Carl-Schurz-Haus, to discuss (mostly) contemporary fictional literature in English.

We welcome participants of all ages and levels of English. All you need to do is read the book, come to the meeting, share your thoughts about it, and be open for other opinions. Occasionally we will vote on new books, and we welcome your suggestions (contact: klausrei[at]t-online.de). We look forward to meeting you and having some great discussions!

Hillbilly Elegy by J. D. Vance
Vance introduces us to the deeply poverty-stricken, tough-as nails but uncompromisingly loving Hillbillies of Appalachia. But he is also a part of the minority of those who were able to leave.
