Are you at least 18 years old, have excellent English skills, and are interested in literature? Then support us and our team for 6 to 12 months as a BUFDI in the library!
What awaits you:
- Library Work: Gain experience in all facets of library work – from repairing and maintaining books to designing seasonal book displays.
- Variety: Gain deep insights into our departments of program development, event planning, public relations, and youth work.
- Seminars: In the Federal Volunteer Service seminars in Karlsruhe, you will meet other volunteers from various fields of activity. Together, you will participate in seminars and courses on different topics. At the same time, there will be plenty of free time to exchange ideas and make new contacts.
- Openness: Engage in an international work environment, interacting with visitors and colleagues from the USA and numerous other countries.
- Collaboration: Become part of our open and welcoming team!
What you bring:
We are looking for friendly, interested, and reliable individuals. Furthermore, the following qualities make you an ideal candidate:
- You are flexible, reliable, and committed as a team player.
- You have a creative streak and are artistically gifted.
- Your English skills are proficient in both spoken and written communication.
- You are proficient in using Microsoft Office programs, and perhaps you already have experience with Canva, Photoshop, or InDesign.
- You are interested in culture, politics, society, and intercultural exchange.
What else you should know:
- Working hours are 35 hours per week, with a 5-day week. Hours are flexible depending on events, including evenings or Saturdays. You will have 22 vacation days per year.
- Participation in the BFD seminars is mandatory and will not be deducted from your vacation.
- The BUFDI position is compensated with a monthly allowance of €360, but we cannot provide accommodation.
