Get ready to vote from abroad!

Rock the vote — from abroad!
U.S. citizens living overseas can still take part in American democracy. If you’re an eligible voter living in and around Freiburg, the Carl-Schurz-Haus is here to help you register and request your absentee ballot for the upcoming midterm elections.
Voter registration is essential if you want to receive your ballot and cast your vote from abroad. Our in-house Federal Voting Assistance Officers, Ashley Matthäus and Sabine Pawletta, will guide you through the registration process and help you complete the necessary steps to vote from overseas.
To make sure you continue to receive absentee ballots while living outside your voting residence in the U.S., it is recommended to submit a new voter registration for each election cycle.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Please bring your Social Security Number and, if possible, a State ID or valid driver’s licence (not accepted by all states). Please also make sure to know the state or territory and address where you last resided immediately prior to your departure from the United States.

No registration required.
