Media for Kids & Teens

The CSH Library looks forward to visits from children and young adults!
Whether you’re looking for Tonies, picture books, early readers, or young adult novels, we have a wide selection, including popular titles such as “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” and classics such as “The Very Hungry Caterpillar.”
All children’s books are sorted by age group and labeled accordingly. These indications are for guidance – you are free to decide for yourself.
Looking for a specific book? Browse our online catalog or directly in the kids’ corner on site.
Come by – there’s a lot to discover!
Story Time

Once a month, the Carl-Schurz-Haus library invites you to Story Time. A great opportunity for children and parents to lean back and experience exciting stories.
The event is aimed particularly at children between the ages of 3 and 6 who want to improve their English in a playful way or simply want to spend a fun Saturday afternoon at the library. Each Story Time revolves around a specific theme. Our readers select suitable English-language stories for this. The reading is accompanied by creative activities such as crafts, painting, singing, or small games.
Admission is free. Everyone is welcome!
For better planning, we kindly ask you to register in advance.
The event starts at 11:30 AM and takes place at the Carl-Schurz-Haus Library. The next Story Time dates are as follows:
Book Stars

Our Book Stars are enthusiastic young readers aged 14 to 19 who meet once a month to discuss the books they’ve read. In our English-language book club, you can bring your own book wishes and ideas – the books are, of course, provided by the library.
The Carl-Schurz-Haus also regularly organizes readings with authors, in which the Book Stars actively participate. Further highlights include joint visits to book fairs or sleepovers at the Carl-Schurz-Haus.
As a Book Star, you not only get to know other booklovers and make new friends, but you also improve your English skills along the way.
Everyone is welcome!
